puff puff and beans
Puff puff and beans is a perfect combo eaten in cameroon either for breakfast or as a snack.
I remember back in my primary school days; if i was not eating “meat pie or fish rolls during my break then it was “puff puff”. and off course with some delicious beans at the side 😁.
What is puff puff and how it is made ?
Puff puff also known as beignet in french are like
“mini round doughnuts “if you will like to call it this way ; are made out of a mixture of plain flour, yeast which could be dry active or the powder version, sugar, pinch of salt and warm water. The secret to having good puff puff depends on the quality and type of yeast you use.
I am all about simplicity when it comes to cooking and try to make sure that every video or script I put out there can be replicated. I believe everyone can make this snack and with some beans on the side; that’s a complete meal right there 👌.
puff puff is a very popular snack eaten by many other African countries too and made in a different way too with a variety of other ingredients.
PUFF PUFF RECIPE
3 cups of plain flour
1 sachet powder yeast. If using from a can or packet , 1 tbsp dry active yeast is fine
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
Like warm water
Beans ( 1 packet or 6 cans of black beans )
2 spring onions
1/2 stem parsley
1 stem celery or leek
4 cloves of garlic fresh ginger.
A tbsp Ginger powder too can be used.
1 Maggi cube 1/2 tablespoon of all-purpose seasoning
Smoked markarel or crayfish
